"Music is poetry and poetry is music; Girlhood beautifully integrated both art forms, and I was honored to serve as the Resident Artist for this summer series. I was thrilled to share my own original music, but even more inspired by facilitating the collaboration between fellow female singer-songwriters. We worked together to bring each other's visions to life, to be shared with the empowering Girlhood community. Each performance, I was deeply moved by the words of the poets and the energies of the other musicians. I always left feeling inspired to tell more stories and listen to the stories of the women around me on a daily basis. The rooftop wine receptions offered opportunities to connect with other artists and audience members, ending the night in style with the New York City skyline and a celebration of the female experience."
