Handstand
a play by Helen Huettner
directed by JJ Maley
A coffee shop in Harlem plays host to the daily meetings of two theater professionals. Mac and Liz are best friends, roommates, and own a theater company together. Their experience with a shared tragic event unites them and details their quirky interactions and unique bond. As the play unfolds relationships, endeavors, and interactions are strained by a secret the women share. A dark comedy in one act, Handstand explores what leaves us and what lingers and the poignancy of authenticity.
